Memo of Understanding:
In an agreement between Sheriff Chris Vasquez and the Pinal County Deputies Association. Whereas, it is understood by both parties (Sheriff Chris Vasquez and the Pinal County Deputies Association), that we are agreed to pursue the goal of making the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office the best that it can be, and in order to accomplish this goal, it is in the best interest of both parties to work together. The Sheriff, Chris Vasquez, promises to include the Pinal County Deputies Association in the decision making processes that concerns them in the listed categories.
The Sheriff agrees to meet with designated employee representative at least once a month to discuss issue and solutions concerning:
Disciplinary issues
Including the involvement of Association Representative in Disciplinary Review Boards
Promotional processes
Work place environment

Including safety and equipment
Conflict resolution
Including sexual harassment, hostile work environments and pre- Problem Solving Actions
Whereas the Pinal County Deputies Association recognizes that it is not within the purview of the Office of the Sheriff to address issues including, but not limited to: pay rate and new personnel (Board of Supervisors’ duties) that the employees will, through their representatives and in accordance with this agreement, pursue only those issues that are of mutual concern and benefit to themselves and the Sheriff’s Office.
This understanding shall be in effect through December 31, 2008.
